Ever wonder where the garment industry gets their embroidery thread? Well, I found one source and this is great thread. It is made when I order it, so I know it's fresh. This polyester thread is strong and fade resistant. Yes, you can use it in place of rayon thread. I will be ordering more colors as the year goes on. Right now, all I have in stock is black, red and blue.

Same thread as before, just a new name. A new 30 cone floral kit is also available. Now the cones are shorter, so they'll fit on your horizonal thread pin, but they still have 1,100 yards on them. This thread is usually only sold to the large upscale garment houses, but by luck, the sales woman likes me and let's me buy it. It is made when I order it, so I know exactly how old this thread is.

These are the same spools of thread used to make up the Floral Thread Kit.

Gold Metallic - Silver Metallic and Rainbow Metallic (gold, blue & pink varigated) 1,100 yards each of premium metallic thread.

The motif was stitched with the Rainbow metallic, on a Brother PE-150, with a number 11 needle, without a thread break. Just put the spool on your horizontal thread pin and sew away.

NOTE: The 1000 yard soft metallics are on sale for $6.00 each.

I know that every sewing or embroidery machine is different. Each has it's own likes and dislikes when it comes to thread. I found some really nice metallic thread, but it was in huge cones. So, to give you the opportunity to expand your thread stash, I have rewound this thread onto smaller spools. The spools have either 250 yards, or 1000 meters (depending on the size of your project) on them. Some will have a little more, some a little less, some wound tighter than others and some looser. My rewinding machine is old and not in the digital age, so you will have to forgive it's cranky ways. I call this a soft metallic because it is softer than regular metallic, and can be easily used on quilts or clothing, even baby quilts. You see, regular rayon is wound with a metallic thread giving a nice sparkle to the thread without being as scratchy as regular metallic.
