Couching Sliver is a metallic thread that can be added to your embroidery or craft work in many various ways. It is not strong enough for machine embroidery, but can be put in the bobbin case for bobbin work, or can be couched over with other machine threads. I've seen it used in hand embroidery and it can also be used with your favorite yarn to add a touch of sparkle to your project. The sliver is about 1/32" wide.
